Reliable Remeha boilers keep it warm at Liverpool’s iconic St George’s Hall

Liverpool City Council has chosen to install Remeha boilers throughout St George’s Hall for more efficient heating, maintenance and operation.

St George’s Hall, one of the finest neo-classical buildings in the world and part of Liverpool’s UNESCO designated World Heritage Site, has refurbished its heating system with the installation of four Remeha Gas 210 Eco Pro condensing boilers into its North plant room.

This majestic Grade I-listed building, which houses two concert halls and law courts, has been at the heart of the city’s community life since it was built in the early 1800s. When the time came to upgrade the heating system in the North plant room, Liverpool City Council had two key requirements: to improve the reliability and energy efficiency of the heating provision and to standardise the heating equipment for more efficient maintenance and operation of this service.

The Remeha boilers already installed in the South plant room had impressed the Council with their high performance and easy maintenance. The quality of the service provided by Remeha Commercial was an additional influencing factor leading to the specification of four Remeha Gas 210 Eco Pro boilers to meet the heat demand.

Installation was carried out by engineers from Liverpool City Council’s Plant and Maintenance Unit, led by Ray Black.

Mr Black commented: “Remeha boilers are popular with our engineers as they are easy to install and maintain, and outstandingly reliable. The support we have received from the Remeha service team has been equally impressive as they are always at hand to answer any queries we might have.”

With all Remeha boilers now fully operational throughout St George’s Hall, Liverpool City Council can anticipate future energy savings in the region of 30 per cent and a correspondingly smaller carbon footprint. Add to this the reduction in maintenance costs from the standardised heating and the new Remeha boilers represent a major step forward in efficiency savings for Liverpool City Council.

The Remeha Gas 210 Eco Pro Range, with individual outputs from 16 to 200 kW, offers high efficiencies and ultra-low carbon and NOx emissions for energy-saving, environmentally-friendly heating and hot water delivery. The small footprint and ability to be installed back-to-back makes them ideally suited for modular configurations.
