Engineering for maximum energy savings: Remeha boilers at No.1 Brunel Square
Brunel’s ss Great Britain in Bristol, one of Britain’s finest, award-winning visitor attractions, has transformed the former Maritime Heritage Centre into a new multi-use conference and education space, whilst raising the flag for efficiency with the installation of two energy-saving Remeha Quinta Pro 115 replacement boilers.
The newly named No.1 Brunel Square now houses a 250-seat lecture theatre known as the Great Eastern Hall, the new administration headquarters for the Brunel’s ss Great Britain team, as well as providing additional meeting and teaching spaces.
As part of the refurbishment, the ss Great Britain Trust was keen to upgrade the heating of the building in line with its wider environmental ethos. Two Remeha Quinta Pro 115 gas condensing boilers were specified to meet the new requirements of the building whilst providing energy and carbon savings through the higher heating efficiency.
Bob Padfield of BS3 Services, M& E Contractor at No.1 Brunel Square, who specified the Remeha Quinta Pro boilers, commented:
“We recommended Remeha boilers because we have used them on several projects in recent years and found them to be reliable and user friendly as well as heat efficient. It also allows us to do our bit for the environment, as they are one of the most carbon and energy efficient boilers on the market. Add to this the personal service, the competitive price and the back-up support from the Remeha technical department and it makes these boilers ‘first choice’ when asked to recommend a suitable boiler.”
With the installation of the Remeha boilers in the refurbished No.1 Brunel Square, the ss Great Britain Trust can anticipate improved comfort and energy and carbon savings in the months ahead.
The market-leading Remeha Quinta Pro range offers outputs from 8 to 114kW, high efficiencies of 108.9% NCV and excellent ultra-low NOx emissions for environmentally-friendly, energy-efficient heating and hot water production.
