Remeha boilers to save sheltered housing scheme £3,500 in annual gas bills
Three Remeha Gas 110 Eco boilers have been installed at a Liverpool sheltered housing scheme as the most efficient, cost-effective solution to achieve reliable, high-performance heating.
Vienna Court in Old Swan, Liverpool offers specialist independent living for the elderly in secure surroundings. Owned and managed by Plus Dane Housing, it provides self-contained apartments, a communal laundry, kitchen and lounge area with security and safety features including a 24 hour emergency response.
Residential homes have a high demand for hot water and heating, so a robust, efficient heating system is an essential requirement. A failure with the printed circuit boards (PCB) and control connection on the existing boilers at Vienna Court had led to ineffective and inefficient heating for its residents. On the recommendation of heating services contractor TBR 24/7 Ltd, Plus Dane chose not to repair the faulty boilers but to replace them with high efficiency Remeha boilers.
According to the calculations of TBR 24/7’s director, Jonathan Scott, annual gas savings from the new Remeha boilers will be in the region of £3,500. This will deliver a rapid return on investment for Plus Dane with additional future savings due to the improved heating performance and easier maintenance and operation.
“It made strong commercial sense to replace the failing boilers with the more efficient Remeha 110 Eco boilers,” said Jonathan Scott, director at TBR 24/7. “Plus Dane stand to benefit enormously from the energy savings, with financial payback in just four to five years. Added to which, the radiators and pipework had recently been replaced, so it made sense to maximise efficiencies by installing new Remeha boilers.”
“TBR 24-7 and the Remeha boilers have delivered an affordable solution to robust, reliable, energy-efficient heating at Vienna Court,” said Christopher Roach, Gas Manager at Plus Dane Housing. “Not only is the upgraded system providing improved comfort for our residents, but it will bring welcome energy savings and lower operating costs. All in all, it’s a great job.”
Plus Dane owns and manages over 180,000 homes across Merseyside and Cheshire and employs nearly 800 people.
