Tropicana gets a Remeha makeover
Tropicana, Weston-super-Mare’s former lido and the location for street artist Banksy’s hit theme park Dismaland, is enjoying energy-efficient heating and hot water thanks to a newly-installed Remeha Quinta Pro 45 condensing boiler.
The newly reopened Tropicana, which dates back to 1937 and once boasted the highest diving boards in Europe, is being renovated by North Somerset Council after a closure of 15 years. The £1.2 million refurbishment and the arrival of Banksy’s crowd-pleasing exhibition have transformed the Tropicana into an impressive 21st century setting. Within the building, the Remeha high performance heating and hot water solution addresses the internal environment of the Sea Front Office.
Steve Hodges, M&E and Energy Manager at North Somerset Council, who is always keen to maximise energy and carbon savings at all North Somerset Sites and projects, commented: “We use Remeha boilers as they are reliable, highly efficient and economical.”
The Quinta Pro boiler was installed by Ed Clayfield of C.E.Plumbing & Heating in Bristol. “I have installed the entire Remeha boiler range over the years and find them extremely reliable. I also value their knowledgeable, expert service and their willingness to go the extra mile.”
The theme park that billed itself as a “Land of Bemusement” may have departed, but the Quinta Pro clearly continues to impress with its high performance.
The market-leading Remeha Quinta Pro range of fully modulating condensing boilers offers outputs from 8.9 to 114 kW, high efficiencies of up to 99% GCV and excellent ultra-low NOx emissions for environmentally-friendly, energy-efficient heating and hot water production. The Remeha Quinta Pro 45 receives an energy rating of A under the ErP Directive.
